One Community. One Water. One Future.

About the Project

The Regional Groundwater Sustainability Project (RGSP) is a regional recycled water project that will develop a new, locally controlled and drought proof water supply for the Five Cities communities. The RGSP will recover treated water, a resource that is currently being discharged to the ocean, and provide advanced treatment to produce purified water to supplement our groundwater supplies and protect our local groundwater basin from seawater intrusion. The RGSP represents a critical opportunity for the communities in southern San Luis Obispo County to bolster their water supplies through the development of a sustainable and environmentally friendly water source to provide safe, reliable water for generations to come.
